CEMCO, Inc. Introduces its computer automated Crop Thinning Machine as a Solution for Global Agricultural Labor Shortages.

Modern day agricultural producers depend upon hundreds of hired laborers to meet critical crop processing deadlines. Changes in immigration laws and new guidelines on human contaminates in crops make labor shortages the greatest threat to today’s agricultural economy.

The CEMCO, Inc. Crop Thinning Machine (CTM) is unaffected by weather, time of day, illness, immigration laws, pay rate, and lowers risks of crop contamination. CEMCO is working to develop a wide range of computer automated solutions to alleviate these problems.

“This CTM is the answer to the present day labor shortages; it does a great job of thinning New Mexico Chile. There is no other choice.” — Glen Duggins (Five Star Chile Farms)

The CTM uses state of the art optical technology to locate plants and to thin out any neighboring plants that are growing too close. Over-planting and then thinning is a method most farmers use to obtain an optimal agricultural yield. The CTM is an attachment that is tractor mounted and Power Take-off (PTO) driven. The CTM has simple to use touch screen controls than can be operated from the cab of a tractor. By using the touch screen controls an operator can customize the thinning process and plant spacing to achieve desired results.

The CTM is available in an 8 row unit model, a 6 row unit model and a 4 row unit model and can operate at speeds up to 3 MPH. Each row unit on the CTM has a plant detecting optical sensor and a cutting blade that functions independently from all of the other row units. CEMCO programmed the CTM on board computer to make logical decisions based on data from the plant detecting sensors to prevent over thinning of crops.

The CTM will begin its ‘hands-on tour’ at Booth Machinery in Yuma, AZ from October 29th to November 2nd. Contact CEMCO at 505-864-1200 for information on when the tour will be coming to your area.

Testimonials

Your service technician Mike Neal was at Arkansas Sand Co. yesterday and today. We recently purchased a used machine  that was available on the market. Mike helped us with the oil lube panel we purchased from CEMCO, along with providing  some on-site training. We are very pleased with CEMCO's service and the information supplied.  We wish all suppliers would be as forthcoming with information (especially as we had NOT purchased a new piece of equipment). - Blake Ross, Plant Manager - Arkansas Sand Co.

avatarCEMCO always has their parts in inventory & will ship however requested.  I don’t remember ever having a part or casting on back order. CEMCO will go above and beyond the call of duty. I wish more of our manufacturers were as good to deal with.
