CEMCO VSI Academy March 4-5, 2010

CEMCO, Inc. (CEMCO) Announces Its Spring 2010 VSI (Vertical Shaft Impact) Academy.

The CEMCO Spring VSI Academy will be held on March 4th and March 5th at CEMCO’s corporate headquarters in Belen, NM.

VSI Academies were introduced by CEMCO 18 years ago to educate the end users of their VSI Crusher line how to operate and maintain their equipment. Today CEMCO offers onsite educational opportunities allowing customers and dealers to train their entire staff at their location and specific to their operational needs.

With almost 50 years of experience in material reduction equipment service, repair and manufacturing, CEMCO has become known worldwide as a leading expert in material reduction technology. CEMCO hosts educational seminars two to four times each year. The CEMCO VSI Academy is for any processor, dealer or individual interested in learning how to measure, analyze, maintain and improve their material reduction operations.

“We have had many attendees make minor adjustments to their operation after attending our VSI Academy that resulted in thousands of dollars of savings to their company,” said President of CEMCO, Neil Hise. “I would even go as far as saying that any VSI operator that has not attended our program is likely losing unnecessary profit in their plant operation.”

Comments from recent attendees:

CEMCO Fabrication Department

CEMCO’s fabrication department has successfully completed its ASW D1.1 Structural Welding Code-Steel certification for A-36 plate and A514 grade B (T-1) plate. This certification spells out the requirements for design, procedures, qualification, fabrication, inspection, and repair of pipe, plate, and structural shapes that are subject to either static or cyclical stresses.

The CEMCO welders that participated in this certification process are: Lee Shoemaker (supervisor), Harold Williams, Joe Walls, Leroy Rael, Duane Martinez, Michael Lawson and Travis Massegee. This certification will allow CEMCO to pursue a broader range of government and specialty contracting opportunities.

A514 grade B (T-1) plate is a unique steel alloy that is stronger than regular A-36 grade steel, and only a handful of manufacturers are certified to weld on this material. CEMCO has been fabricating steel products for heavy industrial machinery for over 46 years and has a reputation of the highest quality craftsmanship and integrity.

“This certification process has brought the Welding and Fabrication Department quality to an even higher level. CEMCO fosters a strong mentoring philosophy; we have welders with over 30 years experience sharing knowledge with younger welders to complete this process,” said Fabrication Department Supervisor, Lee Shoemaker.
