CEMCO grows its business with customization offerings
March 28, 2017
While known for its expertise with vertical shaft impact crushers CEMCO, Inc. is expanding that core business to include options ranging from customizing other brands of crushers for greater efficiency to stationary and portable crushers to fully mobile process plants.
“CEMCO is evolving beyond the VSI; we are able to help address whole plant solutions,” says Jennifer Hise, CEMCO vice president. “We want our customers to have the best solutions to help them move forward. The whole point its for them to get the most from their investment.”
Building on industry expertise
At ConExpo-Con/Agg, CEMCO features its Turbo 54 VSI Crusher, which offers a mid-sized option that is said to be powerful enough to process materials as large as 2 inches wide into a uniform, cubical, crushed, high-quality product. Fully customizable, from internal components to portable or stationary configuration, the Turbo 54 features a single-drive motor with input horsepower capabilities up to 250. The compact machine weighs 11,000 pounds and produces throughputs as high as 125 tons per hour.

Available in two models, the Turbo 80 VSI Crusher offers a mid-sized option that can process materials up to 4-inches wide into a uniform, cubical, crushed product. It is fully customizable, from internal components to portable or stationary configuration.
The standard Turbo 80 features a single-drive motor with input horsepower capabilities up to 400. It model weighs 19,000 pounds and produces throughputs up to 275 tons per hour.
Featuring a V-Twin motor design, the Turbo 80 V-Twin offers greater power input and higher product output. The dual-drive unit is available with up to 600 horsepower, weighs about 25,000 pounds, and offers production capabilities up to 350 tons per hour.
Expanding offerings with custom solutions
In addition to its core products, Hise says the company can also help producers optimize their crusher investment by modifying components – such as the shoe table, rotor, and/or anvils to enhance efficiency for a specific application – on other brands of crushers.

CEMCO also designed and constructed a portable industrial tile recycling plant to meet a specific customer need. Built around its Turbo 54 VSI Crusher, the closed circuit plant includes a primary crusher, dust collection system, triple-deck incline vibratory screen, and vibratory feeder. A 500-kilowatt generator powers the equipment for ultimate location flexibility.
“This plant is absolutely one-of-a-kind. By adapting the plant’s components to fit on the relatively compact surface of a single trailer, we eliminated the need to transport the equipment separately and reconfigure the plant at each site,” Hise says. “This saves time and money, and it’s a concept we adjust and adapt to suit other companies needing portable solutions for industrial recycling.”
Meeting operator needs
Hise says she’s hearing plenty of optimism from the aggregates market and believes the wind is behind its sails. “There is a feeling of momentum, but it’s going to take everyone working together,” she adds. “If a producer ends help – for a crusher customization, a new portable or stationary unit, or a whole plant – we can make it happen.”
